Six-Point Program of the PLOIntroduction Following the visit of Egyptian President Anwar as Sadat to Jerusalem, and his Knesset speech of November 20, 1977, in which he offered peace to Israel, the Palestine Liberation Movement met in Tripoli Libya and issued its reaction, which was to form a front of groups and states that would try to isolate Egypt and prevent peace with Israel. This became known as the "refusal front." They issued the statement below, which included rejection of UN Security Council Resolution 242 and UN Security Council Resolution 338, and reaffirmed the commitment of the PLO to destroy Israel in stages:
The declaration is very significant in view of recent attempts to suggest that the Israelis shut the PLO out of the peace process.
