As Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Friedman is from Austria, he is well aware of present Austrian laws against holocaust denials; he did not go as far as Brtish "historian" David Irving who was jailed in Vienna for denying the holocaust. It would be something when this reb would be jailed in Austria for the same reason!
There is no logic in his standpont though: the holocaust is one thing, the State of Israel another. The foundation of the State of Israel should have been done even without the holocaust!
I am not a Jew, but I do support the State of Israel, and also telling about the terrible crime of the holocaust, so that all people in all generations should remember: it should never happen again! Nazism was not restricted to the Third Reich only. You can see it in neonazism: it appears all over, among many nations. But there are also non-Jewish friends of Israel in many nations! God bless Israel!

I don't understand what is motivating these rabbis. Maybe they think that--since establishing a state of Israel before the "Messiah" has arrived was sinful--they're right to fight Israel in every way possible. Maybe. But can't they see what they're doing, whom they're associating with? Do they imagine that they're using people like David Duke and Ahmadinejad rather than the other way around? Maybe these rabbis thing they're acting tactically, but they've really gone over the line. Or perhaps they're just cracked!

Your recent article on the Jewish anti-Zionists' visit to Iran brings to the fore an often ignored phenomenon: Jewish opposition to Zionism - and the very existence of the State of Israel- which refuses to vanish in spite of Israel's economic, scientific and military successes. Quite a few Israelis consider it the most serious threat to Israel as a State and as a collective identity, perhaps even more grievous than Arab and Palestinian hostility. My recent book, A Threat from Within: A Century of Jewish Opposition to Zionism (Zed Books/Palgrave Macmillan, 2006), gives reason to these concerns and explains the bases of this troubling phenomenon.

Every religious denomination has its share of demented clerics, like the various Palestinian Christians (Michael Saba of the RCs, Naim Attik of the Anglican church, etc.) who cleave to the Islamists against Israel while their churches are being burned down and their parishoners are being compelled to pay jizya and adopt Islamic garb, but yes, this claque who went to Tehran, whether they are Holocaust deniers like Friedman or simply toxically "anti-Zionist" like the NK contingent, do take the Darwin award, don't they.

Bravo, Well said. Now, what do we do to take their passports away, have them live full time with David Duke, and live in Iran. They are not only traitors to the Jewish people but to Israel and the United States.
