NATO forces in the West Bank would be as effective as UN forces in Lebanon have been.

Hi,
Sorry to disappoint you - I wrote the letter of course. Israel will not allow an invasion of foreign troops unless we have gone totally bananas here.
The Hamas will certainly "try it" and the results will not be good. However, a worse alternative is a force like UNIFIL in Lebanon, that does nothing so they do not get attacked.

I was wondering about the letter itself--you don't say where it came from. But about the real subject, let them try it. Maybe the horror for their soldiers will finally give the West some realistic ideas. The problem is, if NATO troops got rousted by Hamas, the blame would still fall on Israel. Perhaps the next step would be the plan to bring in US or international troops to sit on Israel.

Hi,
What is real, is that that is certainly the welcome that NATO troops will get in Gaza and the West Bank. Any Israeli who served in Gaza or knows someone who did knows that this can't be serious. NATO troops will not last a minute there if Hamas puts out the word. And Hamas has no use for America or American peace plans of course.
It is not clear if these fellows are serious or joking about this plan, but Mashal will be serious about implementing his plan. That much is certain.

So, Is this for real? Or did you make it up as a joke? Pretty funny, either way.
