In these days, when we are reminded everywhere of the (Lebanese) civilian victims of the Hezbollah war against Israel, it is fitting to remember Israeli civilian victims of terror too. During the Intifadeh, between October 2000 and March 2005, 123 children were killed by indiscriminate Palestinian terror.

Media and fairness are more and more becoming a contradiction in terms. We have been reading about and watching staged media events being portrayed as the reality of the situation while the bias in reporting has gone from bad to worse.
Where do we place our faith and trust when listening to, reading or watching the news? I personally grew up in Egypt at the time of Nasser, and grew accustomed to lies and only lies spewed from the government controlled media; now that I live in the free world I am still left to my own devises to sift through facts, fallacies, and downright lies portrayed as facts, and I still have to make up my own mind as to what is true, and what is half truth or just lies.
But what do we use as a guide to answer our own needs in seeking the truth? Do we have a higher authority that passes final judgment and stacks the right from the wrong in different piles for us? Hardly!
It takes at times a simple voice, with no axe to grind, to separate the grain from the chaff. In a recent Jerusalem Post article The media aims its missiles by Tom Gross, a former Middle East correspondent for the London Sunday Telegraph; attempted to set the record straight on this issue. It is a must read.

It is not enough to analyze the current situation and reach such decisions, because one can be judged as biased, or misinterpreting events and deriving one’s own conclusions.
Well, the words and the analysis posted below are those of The Libyan reformist Dr Muhammad Al-Huni, in a series of essays. His analysis spanned 3 interesting essays written in:
July 16: Nasrallah's Flag, Anthem, Goals, and Interests are "Not Lebanon's"; His Alliances "are Only With the Enemies of Lebanon"
July 22: Hizbullah is "A Militia That is Separate From Lebanese Society... Financed by Iran"
July 26: The Dreams of Ahmadinejad, Hamas, and Nasrallah "Bring Nothing but Massacres and Unbalanced Wars"
In the first essay he dwells on Nasrallah’s initial successes only to question his recent tactics and his motives.
In the second essay, he denounces Nasrallah and his objectives, and accused him of treason and of being a country within a country kowtowing to the enemies of Lebanon, Syria and Iran.
Finally in the third essay he describes the religious and ideological underpinning of Iran and her lackeys and how it is really pitting Shiites and Sunnis against one another and bringing disasters all around.

CNN's Anderson Cooper exposed how Hezbollah manipulates the news, and how media allow themselves to be manipulated:
Civilian casualties are clearly what Hezbollah wants foreign reporters to focus on. It keeps the attention off them -- and questions about why Hezbollah should still be allowed to have weapons when all the other militias in Lebanon have already disarmed.
Cooper explained how Hezbollah stages ambulance calls, shepherds correspondents through Beirut and ensures that they see only what they are supposed to see and photgraph only what they are supposed to photograph. And he explains how media photographer dutifully cooperate, taking photos of faked ambulance emergences. Rich Noyes has the story at Newsbusters (below)

Rather than bombing them off the air, IDF psy-ops teams have apparently targeted Hezbollah's al-Manara TV, which generally shows harangues of Hassan (Nasty) Nasrallah and photos of Hezbollah 'victories.' Al Manara TV viewers are getting messages of another kind as well now.

Hezbollah terrorist rockets have hit two Israel hospitals. One rocket hit just outside of Rebecca Sieff Hospital in Safed, a second rocket hit Western Galilee hospital in Nahariya. This information is hardly a secret to Israelis and was broadcast on Israeli TV. For "some reason" (I wonder why!) viewers in Europe, the USA and Asia have probably not seen news of these attacks on their TV screens. Nobody was injured in the attacks, because patients in Israeli hospitals have been moved to secure areas. Israel doesn't use civilians as shields and doesn't exploit civilian deaths for sensationalist publicity.
Dr. Norman Loberant, MD, a doctor at Western Galilee hospital has prepared a presentation showing the damage to the hospital and a map showing that rocket hits have been concentrated around the hospital. The area has no military targets. This raises the suspicion that Hezbollah are deliberately targeting the hospital.

This is how Hezbollah does it. Here is a quote from a Lebanese Shi'ite:
After Israel left Lebanon, it did not take long for Hezbollah to have the say in our town and all other towns. Received as successful resistance fighters, they appeared armed to the teeth and dug rocket depots in bunkers in our town as well. The social work of the Party of God consisted in building a school and a residence over these bunkers! A local sheikh explained to me laughing that the Jews would lose in any event because the rockets would either be fired at them or if they attacked the rocket depots, they would be condemned by world opinion on account of the dead civilians.
Heads they win, tails we lose.
Remember this when you see the photos of Lebanese civilians who died. Remember it when you hear the condemnations of Israeli "war crimes" in the UN.

Following the report in the Lebanese Web site Libanoscopie about Qana, which claimed that Hezbollah deliberately set up the Qana "massacre," here are more indications that the Qana "massacre" may have been staged by Hezbollah, though not all of them are convincing.
Eureferendum shows photos of what appear to be the same two "rescue workers" who seem to show up in different places in Lebanon, over and over, and who may actually be Hamas operatives: one fellow in a T-shirt and the other in an olive-drab "green" helmet. One of these fellows was apparently also present at the first Qana "massacre" in 1996. Here are some examples:
However, in some of the photos shown at Euroreferendum, the man identified as "T-Shirt seems to be a different fellow with a beard, wearing a different T-shirt and grey slacks instead of jeans, and being slightly bald as well. Judge for yourself:
Oh well, Rush Limbaugh liked it.
Confederate Yankee shows photos of rescue workers and victims totally free of debris dust, unlikely after a building collapse, and supposedly recently dead victims showing advanced signs of rigor mortis that had to have taken many hours to set in.

The Lebanese Web site Libanoscopie reports that the massacre in Qana was set up by Hezbollah, in order to defeat the seven point plan of the Lebanese government, which would have disarmed the militia:
Knowing full well that Israel will not hesitate to bombard civilian targets, Hizbullah militants placed a rocket launcher on the roof of a building in Qana and brought disabled children inside, in a bid to provoke a response by the Israeli Air Force, to create a new situation, using the massacre of innocents to regain the initiative in the negotiations."
The report is believable because the place, Qana, where there had been an Israeli "massacre" in 1996, and also the timing were very very convenient for Hezbollah.

All it took was to ply Mr. Mel Gibson with liquor before we heard him utter some choice anti-Semitic blather as reported in TMZ’s “Gibson's Anti-Semitic Tirade -- Alleged Cover Up”.
The apple did not fall far from the tree after all; do we understand you better now Mel? Like you tried to make us understand your father’s point of view vis a vis Jews and anti-Semitism?
Sorry, but you don’t get a free out of jail card on this one, and your public drunkenness does not excuse your words either.
Your apology fell short of explaining your anti-Semitic diatribe.
You have shown us your true color; and it is ugly!

What we hear and see in the media is only about the indiscriminate bombing of the IDF of Lebanon’s infrastructure and civilian targets.
This report of the Stratfor Global Intelligence Services: “Lebanon: Precision in the Israel Air Force’s Campaign” takes meticulous pains in describing the extent of the targeted precision bombing by the IDF and its intended effect.
Contrary to popular mainstream media belief, the infrastructure bombing (of highway overpass and the Beirut airport) was intended to temporary disable but not inflict a crippling blow to the infrastructure, as amply demonstrated in the expanded article below.
Only when it comes to Hezbollah targets and its enclaves, which are cowardly ensconced amidst the general population of Southern Lebanon, does the bombing takes a meaningful and devastating turn.

Hezbollah has been waging a war against Lebanese citizens - killing Lebanese and using them as hostages and threatening non-Shi'ite segments of the population. Blog-o-Fascists tells us about this:

The Iranian foreign ministry has insisted that it is not supplying arms to the Hezbollah. However Hezbollah announced that rockets that hit Israel were Iranian Raam rockets. The missile that hit the Israeli missile cruiser was clearly of Iranian origin.
However, a picture is worth a thousand words. The photo below shows a captured Hezbollah RPG with an Iranian military industry symbol.

Today a large number of civilians were apparently killed in an IAF (Israel Air Force) strike on Kafr Kana. Hezbollah were using this town as a launching base for tens of rockets aimed at Kiriat Shmona in Israel. IDF (Israel Defense Force) explained that Hezbollah terrorists were seen fleeing to the building. According to Lebanese, 22 children were killed when a three story building collapsed. Nobody will ask why there were children in Kafr Kana, after all residents of South Lebanon were cautioned to leave or why Hezbollah was firing rockets from the middle of a building.
